Heavy knit number 32 Buffalo Bills road jersey from the 1966-68 period originally issued to Gary McDermott in 1968. May have the added bonus of having been assigned to Jack Spikes in 1966 and 1967 as well. The jersey was recycled by the team the following season for use in practice where it was worn by OJ Simpson, just starting his Hall of Fame career with Buffalo. Once it was deemed no longer usable by the team, the jersey was then handed down to a local semi-pro team in Buffalo and worn by the father of the original owner. The size 46 jersey show extreme use and the front “32” has pulled away in places. The “2” on the right shoulder has come loose as well. Much of the original red stitching on much of the tackle twill has gone away. Two true team repairs are on the front and there is heavy puckering on the numbers. A name plate has been removed from the back which has left at least two “pulls” in the fabric. The Rawlings tagging is semi-attached in the back tail with the size “46”. Cleaning instructions are sewn directly to the right of the Rawlings tag. A really impressive piece of football history that carries that “been there” look and feel. Letter of provenance from the son of the semi-pro player who received it from the Bills and a LOA from MEARS. Multiple images and LOAs available at goldinauctions.com.
