Standing 22” high, this NBA Rookie of the Year trophy was awarded to Dave Bing by the Philadelphia Sports Writers Basketball Club following the 1966-67 season. A golden basketball player stands atop the trophy, mounted on a square marble base fronted by a gold plaque reading “Phila. Sports Writers Basketball Club.” This base is in turn mounted on an alabaster tower which itself is mounted on another marble base, fronted by a gold plaque reading “N.B.A. Rookie of Year 1966-67”. This is all set atop a patterned gold colored mount and a 1X3X7½” marble base, with gold colored wings to either side of the tower. Golden brackets were once attached to each side of the alabaster tower, but both have become unfastened, and only 1 is included with this item. A golden leaf remains attached to the white tower, and glue remnants still remain on the sides where the brackets were fastened. This trophy is accompanied by an LOA from Dave Bing.
