Presented is a George Chuvalo signature on the official program for his March 29, 1966 heavyweight boxing championship bout with Muhammad Ali at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, Canada. Chuvalo has signed his name in black pen on the interior of the 5½ x 8½-inch four-page cardstock program with red and black printing. The fight is billed as “The Heavyweight Showdown” on the cover, above a black and white head shot of Ali and the caption “Muhammad Ali Cassius Clay Jr. The Peoples’ Champion”. Chuvalo is billed as the “Canadian Champion” next to his black and white head shot. Ali fought Chuvalo twice, this night and then on May 1, 1972.  Ali won both fights through unanimous decisions on points. Chuvalo was the five-time Canadian heavyweight champ and two-time world heavyweight title challenger, both times against Ali. Accompanying this item is a 5 x 7-inch black and white postcard photo of the first Chuvalo/Ali fight, and a 4 x 5-inch black and white posed publicity photo of Chuvalo with the caption “Canadian Heavyweight Champion.” This item comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
