The birds still flew south and leaves fell from the trees, but the Yankees were not in the World Series. 1965 marked the beginning of a decline for the Yankees but the 1965 team had all the old greats like Whitey Ford on the mound and Mickey Mantle, who could still hit them out of the park. Roger Maris, though never really loved by Yankee fans, was a brand name all-star.
Presented here is an Official Little League baseball that has been signed by five members of the 1965 Yankees squad. Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle signed his name on the sweet spot in slightly fade black pen. The other signatures include Roger Maris, Bobby Richardson, Roy White and Tom Tresch. All of the signatures have been signed in black marker, with the exception of Richardson’s autograph, which was penned in blue. This ball displays some toning and other marks and comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
