Fritz Peterson, best known for his wife swapping adventures with former teammate Mike Kekich, was a successful pitcher for the New York Yankees down years. Fritz spent nine seasons with the Bronx Bombers, winning 20 games and making the All Star team in 1970. This “white” button-down flannel game worn home pinstripe jersey features the interlocking “NY” on the left breast, while the front left tail has "67" stitched in blue thread, just below the “Spalding” manufacturers tag with stitched “44” size tag. Below the year is the standard period wash tag, with attached “SET 1 1967” flag tag. The inside collar has a white strip tag with “Peterson” stitched in blue thread. Much of the white strip tag has pulled away from the stitching. The number “59” is on the reverse, as this jersey was recycled to the Yankees minor league system sometime after Peterson wore it, and remnant outlines of Peterson’s original “19” appear under close scrutiny. The jersey exhibits evidence of nice evidence of game use, with multiple areas of staining and general overall wear. Full LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
