Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was presented with this Lester Scott Memorial Award for Outstanding Visiting Player for the 1968-69 season, Kareem’s final year with the UCLA Bruins. Kareem, then known as Lew Alcindor, was one of the most dominant college basketball players of any era, averaging 26.4 points and 15.5 rebounds throughout his three-season career. Abdul-Jabbar led UCLA to three straight NCAA titles, making them the first school in NCAA history to achieve the three-peat. This trophy has a base of 5.5 x 5.5 inches and a total height of approximately 23 inches tall. A plaque affixed to this trophy reads “Lester Scott Memorial Award / Outstanding Visiting Player 1968-69 / Lew Alcindor UCLA / Presented by MBWA” This award derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
