In 1968, the Detroit Tigers won 103 games to claim the American League flag by a 12-game margin over the Baltimore Orioles. The Tigers, who boasted American League Cy Young and MVP Denny McClain, faced off against the Cardinals, who featured their own ace pitcher with dual accolades, NL Cy and MVP Bob Gibson. Led by the 31-game winner McClain, Detroit pulled off a memorable seven-game series victory over the RedBirds.

This Official American League Joseph E. Cronin baseball has been signed by 25 members of the 1968 Tigers, with manager Mayo Smith’s signature located on the sweet spot. Other signatures include the Hall of Famers Al Kaline and Eddie Mathews, Mickey Lolich, Gates Brown, Denny McClain, Daryl Patterson, Mickey Stanley, Jon Warden, Wayne Comer, Jim Price, and several more. The signatures have been written in black and blue pen. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A89209).
