Jackie Robinson 70th anniversary auction to benefit JRF ending April 29
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 4/30/2017
Presented here is a typed and signed letter from Jackie Robinson regarding his son, Jackie Jr. The younger Robinson, an Army veteran, had a troubled and difficult life that led to him developing a problem with drugs. This letter, addressed to Maurice St. Mary, thanks him for his interest in Jackie Jr.’s condition. Robinson sent this letter in March of 1968, three years before his son passed away in an automobile accident. Robinson signed the bottom of the letter in black pen. This is an extremely unique item that provides an interesting look into the family life of one of America’s greatest sporting heroes. This item comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication.
