Graded NM 7 by PSA. Rookie Card. The Dutch icon Johan Cruyff shaped soccer in his ethereal image with an unparalleled career on the pitch and in management over the second half of the 20th century. The engine behind Holland’s overpowering Total Football style, and later the architect of Barcelona’s rebirth among the global giants of the game as a coach, Cruyff’s three-time Ballon d’Or-winning career has inspired generations of soccer players. The iconoclastic forward scored more than 300 goals for Ajax, with Amsterdam and the Netherlands flagship national stadium renamed “Johan Cruyff Arena” in his honor. This breathtakingly rare Palirex Campeoes “Europeus De Futebol” card shows a sublime portrait of Cruyff, spelled on the card’s back as “Gruijff,” in Ajax’s familiar white-and-red strip. Of the 38 examples of this card currently in the PSA population report, this is one of two items graded at its tier, with only two graded higher!
