Coming off the epic seven-game World Series victory of the Boston Red Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals picked right up where they left off in 1968 as they stormed through the National League with a 97-65 record and a World Series matchup with the Detroit Tigers. Unlike the previous World Series, the Cardinals lost a seven-game series with Detroit and the 1968 team was the last Cardinal team to reach the post-season until the red-birds won the World Series in 1982.

Offered is this Official National League Warren Giles baseball that has been signed by 23 members of the 1968 Cardinals in blue ink. Hall of Famers Orlando Cepeda and Red Schoendienst signed their names on the sweet spot. The east panel has the signatures of Bob Tolan, Nelson Briles and Hall of Famer Bob Gibson, while the west panel has Hall of Famer Steve Carlton, Dick Hughes, Phil Gagliano, Tim McCarver, Joe Hoerner and Larry Jaster. The north panel has the signatures of Julian Javier, Billy Muffett, Dick Schofield, Ed Spiezio, Johnny Edwards, and Hall of Famer Lou Brock, while the south panel has Hal Gilson, Mike Torrez, Dal Maxvill, Ray Washburn and Roger Maris. The signatures on this ball are clear and the stampings are light, but are still presentable. This ball comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
