This Bulova watch was presented to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, known then as Lew Alcindor, as a member of the University of California-Los Angeles Bruins 1968 National Championship team. This was the second of UCLA’s three-straight NCAA titles won with Kareem leading the team, with the Bruins 78-55 victory over UNC in the national title game putting the cherry on top of a 29-1 season for John Wooden and his men. Abdul-Jabbar, known in college as Lew Alcindor, averaged an outstanding 26.2 points and 16.5 rebounds per game for UCLA in 1967-68.

This Bulova watch has a numberless face, with “Bulova”, “NCAA”, and “Basketball Champion 1968” all printed on the face. The hands are gold with white accents. The band is made of snakeskin patterned leather that shows moderate wear. The reverse side of the watch face is etched with “Waterproof”, “Bulova”, “10 KT. R.G.P. Case”, “Shock Resistant”, “J622464 M7”, and “Anti-Magnetic”. This watch derives directly from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a personally hand-signed LOA from Kareem will accompany this item.
