Offered is a Vince Lombardi signed personal check from June 9, 1968.  Lombardi is best known as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers (1959-1967), where he led the team to three straight and five total NFL Championships in seven years, in addition to winning the first two Super Bowls at the conclusion of the 1966 and 1967 NFL seasons. Following his sudden death from cancer in 1970, the Super Bowl trophy was named in his honor. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame the year after his death. Lombardi has signed the 3 x 8½-inch pale green check in blue ballpoint pen, with the date “June 9 (19)68” paid to the order off “Resurrection Church,” “Twenty and 00/XXX”, “20.00XXX” “Vincent Lombardi”.  The printed check is from the account of “MR. & MRS. VINCENT LOMBARDI,” with their home address in Green Bay, Wisconsin.  The check is from the Peoples Bank of Green Bay.  It has a red stamped “PAID JUN 11 1968 PEOPLES BANK OF GREEN BAY” cancellation on the front, and a purple cancellation stamp on the back, along with a black stamp “PAY TO KELLOGG CITIZENS NATIONAL BANK RESURRECTION CATHOLIC PARISH.”  This item has been encapsulated and comes with a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (84097708).
