“Sweet Lou” Lou Piniella used this bat to make his mark in the majors. After winning Rookie of the Year honors in 1969, Piniella batted a collective .295 from 1969 to 1972. This rookie era Hillerich & Bradsby M159 model bat shows excellent use with a handle crack that has been secured with tape. The barrel shows several ball marks and scuffs and Piniella’s number “9” is hand written on the knob in black marker. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13633) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.
