Hall of Fame shortstop “Little Louie” Aparicio led the AL in stolen bases for the first nine years of his career with the Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles, compiling a total of 506 thefts in his 18-year career. A consistent hitter, Aparicio hit a career-high .313 at age 36 in 1970 and racked up a career-total of 2,677 hits. This Hillerich & Bradsby S44 model was used by Aparicio at some time during the 1969-1972 seasons and displays outstanding use with a slight crack in the back barrel. Numerous ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the right, left and back barrel along with cleat imprints and red bat rack paint streaks. The lower handle has been taped to enhance the grip and a heavy coat of pine tar applied on the handle and center brand. The model number “S44” has been stamped into the knob and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel blue marker. About as perfect an Aparicio gamer you will find. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16636) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10, plus a LOA from JSA (Z59978) for the signature.
