1969 was the first season in which both the American and National Leagues were split into to divisions. The Baltimore Orioles were the inaugural winners of the newly formed American League East as they decimated the competition with a 109-53 record, winning the division by 19 games over Detroit. Baltimore would dispatch the Minnesota Twins with a three-game sweep of the first ever ALCS, but would lose to the “Amazin” Mets in the World Series.
This offered baseball has been signed by 24 members of the 1969 American League Champion Orioles Baltimore Orioles during spring training. Hall of Fame manager Earl Weaver, along with Billy Hunter have signed their names on the sweet spot. Handwritten in red ink is “Baltimore Orioles 1969.” Other signatures include Hall of Famers Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer and Brooks Robinson; Davey Johnson, Don Buford, Don Baylor, Charley Lau, Pete Richert, Boog Powell, Al Severinsen, George Bamberger, Curt Motton, Mark Belanger, Paul Blair and others.
