At age 34, most players would be slowing down, but no one told this to Roberto Clemente. For 1969, his 15th season in the Majors, Clemente hit a resounding .345, was named the National League’s Player of the Month for July and led the league in triples with 12. On a more personal level 1969 was the year he and his wife Vera welcomed their third and last child, Roberto Enrique, into the world.

This bat, dating to Clemente’s 1969 season, has all the characteristics one would want to see on a gamer used by the great one. The first is his trademark scoring of the left barrel, done to replicate the face of a golf club and add bottom spin and lift to the baseball. The other Clemente characteristic this bat is his number “21” hand written on the knob. This is written in the style consistent with other documented Clemente gamers. The Hillerich & Bradsby G105 model bat exhibits outstanding use with a handle crack. Many ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the right, left and back barrel. Green bat rack paint streaks are visible throughout and cleat imprints are present on the right barrel. The left barrel shows Clemente’s trademark scoring and there is a heavy coat of pine tar mid-handle. The model number “G105” is stamped into the knob end and Clemente’s immortal number “21” is written in red marker on the knob end with a line going through it. A thoroughly complete Roberto Clemente game used bat. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B08893) for the game use and has been graded a near perfect GU 9.
