Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. Among nearly 2,000 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, just a single example has been placed at a higher tier. Lew Alcindor, one of the most dominating players in basketball history, led UCLA's Bruins to three NCAA Championships and then, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, was the key to several titles in the NBA (most notably with the Los Angeles Lakers). His important rookie card can be said to have inspired the rebirth of enthusiasm for basketball cards. Included in Topps' 1969/70 "Tall Boy" issue, the item is often cited as the cornerstone of modern collecting in its sport. Although very difficult to find in high grade, due to its large size and tendency to display production faults, the offered example displays thoroughly commendable attributes. Exemplary Mint condition.
