Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Bunning used this bat during the 1970 and 1971 seasons when he was on his second tour with the Phillies. Why Bunning decided to use one of teammate Don Money’s signature model bats is unknown, but it might be that Bunning thought Money’s .295 average might rub off on him a bit. His average did jump from .111 to .127… The Hillerich & Bradsby M110 Don Money model bat shows tremendous game use. The barrel displays many ball marks and abrasions along with cleat imprints and bat rack paint streaks. The handle has a coat of pine tar and the knob has Bunning’s number “14” handwritten in black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B17428) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.
