The two-tiered base has a gold plate on the top that reads “Lew Alcindor MILWAUKEE BUCKS” and the larger bottom-tier has a gold plate that reads “NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION 1970-71 MOST VALUABLE PLAYER SCORING CHAMPION 31.7 AVERAGE”. The top of the trophy has a long stem holding a chalice and figure on top with his arms in the air holding a laurel wreath. On the larger-tiered wood base are gold colored eagles on each corner with their wings outstretched.
