John Hadl seemed to embody the San Diego franchise, having joined them in just their second season in 1962, and quarterbacking the Chargers through 1972. During the 1970-1972 season to which this jersey dates to, Hadl won NFL Man of the Year Award, led the NFL in passing, touchdowns and played in the Pro Bowl. The blue home durene jersey has Hadl’s number “21” in white tackle twill on the chest and both sleeves with the Chargers’ signature lightning bolts on each shoulder. The back has “HADL” and his number “21” in white tackle twill. The Sand Knit size 48 label is sewn in the tail of the jersey. The piece shows heavy game use with toning and some loose threads, but no repairs evident. A rare early NFL gamer worn by one of the Chargers’ first stars. This jersey comes with an LOA from MEARS (313812) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of A10.
