Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher José Peña wore this gray flannel road jersey during the 1970 MLB season, his first with the Dodgers. Peña appeared in 29 games for the Dodgers in 1970, winning four and losing three as the Dodgers finished in second place in the National League West. Peña pitched two more seasons for the Dodgers, retiring after the 1972 campaign and four seasons in the Major Leagues.
This gray flannel button-down jersey has “Dodgers” sewn across the chest in blue felt. Peña’s number “49” is sewn on the chest in red felt and on the back of the jersey in blue felt. “Pena 70” is embroidered in blue on the front left tail above a tag with washing instructions and a “SET 1 #8P 1970” flag. A Rawlings size “44” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. This jersey shows light wear and comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
