Under manager Jack McKeon, the Omaha Royals – the AAA affiliate of the Kansas City Royals – won the 1970 American Association League Championship. Offensively, Omaha was led by George Spriggs (.301 average, 29 stolen bases) and Chuck Harrison (.279, 21 home runs). On the mound, Monty Montgomery went 11-6 with a 3.54 ERA while Galen Cisco was 6-3 with a 2.49 ERA. Lance Clemons was a 22-year-old pitcher, recording a 1-2 record in 52 innings of work.

Offered here is the 1970 Omaha Royals American Association League Championship ring that was originally presented to Clemons. Manufactured by Herff Jones, this 10K gold ring features a beautiful blue stone face, with the words “OMAHA ROYALS” appearing in relief work around the bezel setting. One shank displays the year 1970 along with the team name and logo, while the name “CLEMONS” appears in a banner at the top of the opposite shank. Below his name is an image of a baseball and crossed bats, with “AMERICAN ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONS” shown on the ball. Both the manufacturer and 10K stamps appear inside the band of this approximate size 10 ½ ring. Item weight is approximately 22.5 grams and it comes with owner's original purchase LOA and a Herff Jones ring bag.
