Presented here is a black cold weather Pittsburgh Pirates jacket worn by Hall of Famer Willie Stargell during the 1970s and signed by the two-time World Series champion. Stargell, who played all of his 21 seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, was a seven-time All-Star, the 1979 regular season and World Series MVP, and a two-time home run leader during the 1970s. Stargell was inducted into Cooperstown in 1988 after a career that saw the feared slugger knock out 475 home runs, 1,540 RBIs, and post an average of .282. This presented black seven-button jacket features the number “8” in yellow tackle twill on the sleeves and back of the jersey. A Rawlings “THE MARK OF A PRO” size “48” manufacturer’s tag rests on the inside collar. Stargell signed the number “8” on the back of the jacket with a black marker. The signature is bold and clear, and the jacket displays minor game use, containing wear on the collar and sleeves. The game used Pittsburgh Pirates warm-up jacket worn and signed by Hall of Famer Willie Stargell during the 1970s comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature and an LOA from MEARS (318037) who gave the jacket a grade of Authentic.
