Steve Spurrier made his mark in college football first as a player, winning the 1966 Heisman Trophy as a member of the Florida Gators and then as a coach – leading his alma mater to the National Championship in 1996. Spurrier was a two-time ACC and seven-time SEC Coach of the year. Spurrier had a solid NFL career as well, playing mostly for the San Francisco 49ers in his 10-year career. Spurrier played for the 49ers from 1967-1975 and spent his final season with the expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Offered here is a road white San Francisco 49ers jersey worn by Spurrier in the early 1970’s. This white Dureen jersey has Spurrier’s number “11” sewn on the front, back and shoulders in red tackle twill. Please note that the numbers on the back are peeling off, with the right number missing about half the material. The front number is also missing some material on the left “1”. The sleeves have three red stripes and the back has “SPURRIER” sewn on in red tackle twill on a matching white nameplate. There are spots of material on the sewn-on name with white marks. This jersey displays heavy use with the aforementioned marks on the numbers and letters and a tear in the left sleeve end and some toning. This jersey comes with a LOA from PM&G for the game use.
