Former defensive back Jim Marsalis played eight years in the NFL, with the first seven season in Kansas City for the Chiefs and his final season with the New Orleans Saints. Marsalis was a key defender on the 1969 Chiefs team that won Super Bow IV. Marsalis wore this red mesh Chiefs jersey during the 1970’s. Manufactured by Russell Southern Co., the precursor to Russell Athletic, this size 48 jersey has Marsalis’ number “40” screen-printed in white with yellow borders on the front, back and shoulders. The collar is a red V-neck and the sleeve ends have an expandable ribbed material with white/yellow/white stripes. The Russell Southern Co. size 48 tag is sewn on the lower front tail. The back has “MARSALIS” sewn on in white and yellow tackle twill on a matching red mesh nameplate. This jersey displays moderate game use with a white mark on the back. This jersey comes with a LOA from PM&G for the game use.
