Pete Rose played the game like each one was his last. During the Reds best years, the 1970's which this bat dates to, Rose's bat was a non-stop hit machine, often acting as the spark that powered the famed “Big Red Machine”. Rose’s Adirondack 69A model bat displays outstanding use with a handle crack. Some finish has been removed from the barrel, probably by Rose. As befits the “Hit King” in his prime, the barrel is covered with ball marks and stitch impressions. Cleat marks are visible and the handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to secure the crack. A light coat of pine tar is on the lower handle. Rose’s number “14” is hand written on the knob in black marker and the weight is written in pen, and the model number “69A” is stamped beneath. To complete this Big Red Machine artifact, Rose has boldly signed the barrel in black marker. The bat comes with a full GU 7.5 graded LOA from PSA/DNA (1B07773) for the game use and a COA from PSA/DNA (W45655) for the signature.
