< p class=" MsoNormal" style=" text-indent: .5in;"> Before he served as the 43rd Vice President under Ronald Reagan and the 41st President of the United States, President George H.W. Bush served as the 10th United States Ambassador to the United Nations, a post he held from 1971 to 1973. Presented here is a handwritten and signed letter on official United States Representative to the United Nations letterhead addressed to a Mr. Boydeu. Bush Sr. states, “It was a great thrill for me to see you at Andover,” implying that he and Mr. Boydeu have a relationship, and thanks him for his kind letter. Bush states how Mr. Boydeu is an inspiration to so many and that he wanted to say hello when he saw him at Andover. Bush closed this candid letter, far removed from his administrative and political life, with “To you my admiration and respect” and signed the letter in blue ink. The letter offers a candid look at the relationships held by then-Ambassador Bush and is in good condition, with clear handwriting. The item comes with an LOA from Beckett Authentication (AA13840) for the signature.
