Presented is a lot of eight (8) ticket stubs from World Series “clincher” games from 1972 to 2004. The first ticket stub in this lot is from the 1972 World Series Game 7, as the Oakland Athletics beat the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2, to clinch the World Series on October 22, 1972 at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati. World Series MVP Gene Tenace capped a spectacular World Series with two hits, two RBI and he also scored the game-winning run in the sixth inning on Sal Bando's double. The World Series victory for the Oakland A's was the first for the franchise since the days of Connie Mack when the team was in Philadelphia and had won in 1930. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21147307). The second ticket stub in this lot is from the 1976 World Series, Game 4 at Yankee Stadium, as the Cincinnati Reds clinched the ’76 title with a 7-2 win over the Yankees on October 21st. Johnny Bench hit two home runs in this game, en route to his World Series MVP honor.  This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (22125114).

The third ticket stub in this lot is from Game 7 of the 1986 World Series, in which the New York Mets beat the Boston Red Sox, 8-5, to clinch their second World Series title. The Mets won the Series in the seventh game, after overcoming a deficit of two runs with two outs and no one on base in the bottom of the 10th inning of Game 6. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21147309). The fourth ticket stub in this lot is from Game 7 of the 1987 World Series, in which the Minnesota Twins beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-2, to clinch their first World Series title on Oct. 25th at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis. By winning in the regulation nine innings, the Twins ensured the 1987 World Series was the first in which no games needed the bottom of the ninth inning. No other World Series since then has had that happen. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (17696833).

The fifth ticket stub in this lot is from Game 4 of the 1999 World Series, played on Oct. 27, 1999, in which the New York Yankees swept the Atlanta Braves in four games for their second consecutive title, third in four years, and 25th overall. Yankees closer Mariano Rivera was named the World Series Most Valuable Player.  This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21147297).  The sixth ticket stub in this lot is from Game 7 of the 2001 World Series, played on November 4th at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix, Arizona, with the Arizona Diamondbacks beating the New York Yankees, 3-2 for their first World Series title. It was a matchup of two 20-game winners in the Series finale that would crown a new champion. Roger Clemens, at 39 years old, became the oldest Game 7 starter ever. Curt Schilling had already started two games of the Series and pitched his 300th inning of the season on just three days' rest. Ultimately, Randy Johnson got the win, Mariano Rivera the loss, both in relief.  Johnson and Schilling were co-winners of the World Series MVP.  This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20982704).

The seventh ticket stub is from Game 6 of the 2003 World Series, played October 25th at Yankees Stadium, as the Florida Marlins upset the heavily favored Yankees 4-2, clinching it with this 2-0 shutout by Josh Beckett, who was the MVP of the series.  This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21147328). The eighth ticket stub in this lot is from Game 4 of the 2004 World Series, played in Busch Stadium in St. Louis on October 27. The Boston Red Sox clinched their first World Series title since 1918 with a 3-0 victory over the Cardinals, thanks to a Johnny Damon home run to right field in the first at-bat of the game on a 2-1 count to give the Red Sox the lead in the first inning for the fourth straight game - it proved to be the game-winning run.  This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21181623).
