The Kentucky Colonels were one of the most successful teams in the old ABA, participating in all nine seasons of the league’s existence. They made three appearances in the ABA Finals, winning the 1975 edition. Numerous Hall of Famers played for the Colonels, including Artis Gilmore and Dan Issel.
This ceramic basketball is from their 1972-1973 season, when they won the Eastern Division and advanced to the ABA Finals. This red, white, and blue basketball has been signed over 20 times by members of the 72-73 Colonels, with some players signing their names twice. Signatures include Dan Issel, Artis Gilmore, Louie Dampier, Ronald Thomas, Jim O’Brien, Jack Ankerson (front office), Lloyd “Pink” Gardner (trainer), and more. These signatures were written in black marker. This item comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
