Oakland Athletics shortstop Bert Campaneris wore this yellow Oakland Athletics home jersey during the 1972 World Series against the “Big Red Machine” Cincinnati Reds. In a defensive series with six of the seven games decided by one run, the Athletics managed to clinch their first of three consecutive World Series titles with a 3-2 road victory over Cincinnati in Game 7. After singling off Pedro Borbon in the sixth inning of Game 7, “Campy” scored on 1972 World Series MVP Gene Tenace’s RBI double to collect the A’s second run of the game. Campaneris had an excellent season in Oakland during the 1972 campaign, leading the American League in stolen bases and all of baseball in sacrifice hits while making the second of his six career All-Star Games.

This offered A’s pullover home jersey is yellow, with “CAMPANERIS” sewn across the back shoulders in green tackle twill. Campaneris’ number “19” is sewn on the back of the jersey in white and green tackle twill. Please note some loose threads are present on the “9” digit.  An “A’s” logo and a second “19” are sewn on the chest of this jersey in white and green tackle twill. A “1972” tag, a “McAuliffe” tag, and a size “38” tag are sewn inside the front tail. This jersey has been photo matched by Photo-Matching & Grading, Inc.
