As one-half of the most successful songwriting team in history and the de facto leader of the most influential band of all-time, it is impossible to understate John Lennon’s impact on the world of music. His time with The Beatles, during which he cultivated his songwriting collaboration with band mate Paul McCartney, produced some of the most iconic rock and roll music of the 20th Century. To this day, the Beatles remain the most commercially successful band in popular music. A worldwide icon, one can only imagine how rare a Lennon signature of this quality is.
Offered here is a District Bank Limited check signed by Lennon. This check, made out to “Arthur Young McClelland Moores & Company”, is for the value of £420.00. It is dated to January 4th, 1972. Lennon signed the bottom of the check in bold black marker. A “paid” stamp overlaps slightly with the signature, but does not detract from the quality. This item has been encapsulated and graded a MINT 9 by PSA/DNA (83892212).
