New York Mets infielder Wayne Garrett, a rookie on the 1969 Amazin’ Mets team, wore this jersey during the 1972 MLB season. Garrett played in 111 games, starting most of them. Never a huge power threat, Garrett made his bones by getting on base by any means necessary. In 1972, Garrett walked 70 while maintaining an on base percentage of .374.

Offered is this pinstriped, button down home jersey that features “Mets” sewn across the front in blue and orange tackle twill. Garrett’s number “11” is sewn on the front in blue and orange tackle twill. His number “11” is also sewn on the back in blue and orange tackle twill. A circular Mets skyline logo patch has been sewn on the left sleeve. A “39 ½ 72 11” tag is sewn on the back inside collar of the jersey and the red Rawlings size 40 tag is sewn on the inside front left tail. Garrett signed the right chest of this jersey in blue marker and inscribed “ ’73 N.L. Champs”. This jersey displays moderate use and comes with a LOA from Mears, for the game use, who have graded this jersey a perfect A10. There is also a LOA from JSA (Z83390) for the signature.
