As the Phillies began rising to the top of the standings in 1979, Mike Schmidt too rose to the occasion, his 43 home runs breaking the franchise record set back in 1929. The next season Schmidt's heroics at the plate earned him the National League MVP Award. He almost single-handedly destroyed the Royals pitching in the 1980 World Series, adding the Series MVP Award to NL MVP Award.

This bat was used by the Hall of Famer during his finest summers between 1973 and 1979. The Adirondack BIG STICK model bat exhibits moderate use and has a repaired cracked handle. Abrasions and other markings are visible on the barrel. The model number "246RA" is stamped into the knob end and Schmidt's number "20" is hand written in black marker on the knob end in four spots. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel between the center stamp and stamped endorsement in bold black marker. A great signed gamer from the sweet spot of Schmidt's Hall of Fame career. This bat comes with a full LOA from Mears with a grade of A7 for the game use and a COA from PSA/DNA (AC87177) for his signature.
