Former NHL player Dave Schultz was known as “The Hammer” for his bruising play and pension for fighting. His tenacious play, along with his bruising teammates, earned the Philadelphia Flyers the nickname “Broad Street Bullies” as they ascended to the top of the NHL in not only penalty minutes, but wins. Schultz set an NHL record for penalty minutes during the 1974-75 season with 472 and coming off the franchise’s first ever Stanley Cup, Schultz and the Flyers again captured the Stanley Cup with a 4-3 series victory over the New York Islanders. The Flyers overcame a 3-1 deficit to repeat as champions.

This is the Stanley Cup presented to the victorious Dave Schultz of the Philadelphia Flyers for their repeat triumph in 1974-75. The trophy stands 13 inches tall and has “FROM STANLEY OF PRESTON” engraved on the outer cup. The front is engraved with “PHILADELPHIA FLYERS 1974-75” and lists all the owners, staff and players of the championship team, including Ed Snider (owner), Fred Shero (coach), Bob Clarke (Captain), Bernie Parent, Bill Barber, Rick MacLeish, Dave Schultz, Reggie Leach, Terry Crisp, Bill Clement and others. The trophy shows light tarnishing from age with some minor dings in the black base - otherwise it is in very good condition and presents well. This item comes with a LOA from Dave Schultz.
