For almost a decade and a half, Roy White was the New York Yankees switch-hitting left fielder. Often overshadowed by the bigger personalities in the clubhouse like Reggie Jackson and Thurman Munson, White was the team’s quiet anchor, coming through in the clutch and patrolling his patch of outfield grass like he owned it. During the Yankees championship years of 1976-1978, White averaged .276 and helped the Bronx Bombers win three pennants and two World Championships.

This Roy White 1976-1979 Adirondack 259B model bat shows good game use and is un-cracked and was used by him during that labeling period. The barrel displays many ball marks with some the most wear clusters just below the bat’s barrel stamping. There is some checking from repeated ball contact along with some cleat prints and scuff marks from storage. The handle has a spiral of adhesive tape and along with the model number “259B” stamped into the knob, White’s number “6” has been hand written in black marker. The bat has a solid provenance as it comes from the collection of Barry Weinberg, long time trainer who in 1979-81 was with Roy White’s team, the New York Yankees. The bat comes with a full GU 9.5 LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12652) for the game use and a signed LOA from Barry Weinberg on St. Louis Cardinals stationery.
