After spending his first 14 seasons with the Detroit Tigers, infielder Dick McAuliffe was traded to the Boston Red Sox following the 1973 season. The Connecticut native appeared in 100 games for the Red Sox in 1974, where he hit five home runs, drove in 24 and had a .210 batting average. Offered is this size 42 Boston Red Sox pullover road jersey that was worn by Dick McAuliffe during the 1974 season. This jersey features “BOSTON” sewn across the chest in faded red and navy blue tackle twill. The jersey itself displays fading as it appears as a cream-colored jersey from its original gray. The back of the jersey has “3” in McAullife-style numbering in faded red and navy blue tackle twill. The collar is a v-neck and has a ribbed material with a red/navy blue/red pattern. The tagging for this jersey is sewn on the inside front left tail and has “1974”, “McAULIFFE UNIFORM CORP.” and “42” patches. This jersey displays moderate use and comes with a LOA from Mears, who have graded this jersey a solid A8 and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
