While Yogi Berra will forever be identified with the New York Yankees, he also spent seven seasons coaching and four seasons managing the New York Mets. This Mets gray, button-down road jersey was worn by Yogi during his managing stint in 1974. The jersey features “METS” in blue-on-orange tackle twill across the chest, with Berra’s #8 on the front and back in matching style. The Mets Skyline Patch adorns the left sleeve, and there is blue piping which circles the neck and runs down the front, on either side of the buttons. This piping is severely torn and missing in several spots. The Rawlings manufacturer’s tag, size 42, is found on the front right tail, and an ID tag reading “42 74 8” (denoting size, year and jersey #) is stitched on the interior collar. Berra has signed the jersey below the number on the front of the jersey in blue marker. The jersey shows heavy game use, and comes with a LOA from MEARS graded at A7.5, who have authenticated this jersey's use by Berra during the 1974 season. This jersey also comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (Z02269) for his signature.
