Chicago Bulls power forward Cliff Pondexter wore this warm up jacket during the 1975-76 NBA season, his rookie year. The 16th pick of the First Round in the 1975 NBA Draft, Pondexter averaged over five points and five rebounds per game during his rookie year. Pondexter, the uncle of current NBA player Quincy Pondexter, appeared in the playoffs for the Bulls during the 1976-77 campaign. He would play three seasons in Chicago before retiring after the 1977-78 season.
This collared, button down white warm up jacket features “Chicago” sewn across the front in red and black tackle twill. Pondexter’s number “41”, which he wore for part of 1975-76, is sewn below “Chicago” in similarly colored tackle twill. This jacket is dated to the 1975-76 season based on the Sand-Knit tag design. “PONDEXTER” is sewn across the back shoulders in black and red tackle twill above a sewn on Chicago Bulls logo. The bottom of the jacket and the sleeve openings is ringed with a black and red band. A Sand-Knit tag is sewn on the inside of the back collar. There is slight cracking on the logo and script due to the age of the jacket. This item, which shows moderate use, is accompanied by a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
