Not even Fisk's foul-pole heroics were enough to halt the Big Red Machine—or, rather, the Curse of the Bambino. A fixture of the Red Sox farm system, Bill Slack was on the front lines from 1961 to 1984, primarily as manager of the Class A Winston-Salem Red Sox, whom he led to four pennants. Coincidentally, he also skippered the Class AA Bristol Red Sox to a league championship in that very same year of '75. Slack's Balfour 10K-gold, size 10 ring rates NM and features a gold baseball set on a red stone. It's accompanied by a Balfour presentation box and 1995 purchase LOA.
