This Adirondack model 69A bat was an important cog in Cincinnati’s “Big Red Machine” of 1975. The outstanding usage shown by the many ball marks, stitch impressions and cleat indentations offers a rare peek at the storied 1975 Reds season in which Pete Rose led the National League in doubles and runs scored as Cincinnati took the World Championship from the Boston Red Sox. Red paint streaks mark the barrel and heavy pine tar is present on the handle. Rose’s famed number “14” is present on both the knob and barrel end in black marker. The natural ash wood of this 35”, 36.6oz bat has acquired a warm, aged appearance that only adds to its historical importance. To top off this incredible artifact from one of the greatest teams and ballplayers of all time, Pete has added his signature and the inscription “#4256” to the barrel between the Adirondack brand mark and his stamped name.
