Everyone forgets that Willie Randolph’s rookie season was actually spent in a Pirates uniform. In the 1975 debut season, Willie got into 30 games for the Bucs and hit .164 before he was off-loaded to the Yankees where he developed into one of the game’s greatest hitters. Willie’s debut-season Louisville Slugger bat displays tremendous use with a piece of wood missing from the back barrel. There are many ball marks with white leather ball scuffs present along with bat rack paint streaks. The handle has been taped to enhance the grip and a light coat of pine tar applied. Randolph has signed the barrel in gold marker adding, “Game Used.” This bat comes directly from the collection of Willie Randolph and a signed LOA from Willie Randolph will accompany this item.
