In 1975 the Cincinnati Reds were at the height of their “Big Red Machine” heyday. Managed by the nigh-mythical Sparky Anderson, the Reds high-powered offense ground their National League competition into submission by winning 108 regular season games, finishing 20 games over the Los Angeles Dodgers for the National League West crown. The Reds stormed to a 3-0 NLCS victory over their rival Pittsburgh Pirates before encountering a stacked Boston Red Sox team in the World Series. In what would become an instant classic World Series, the Reds eked out a victory in seven games. Of the seven contests, only two were decided by more than one run, a 6-0 Red Sox victory and a 6-2 Reds win.
Offered here is an Official National League Charles S. Feeney stamped baseball that has been signed by 31 members of the 1975 “Big Red Machine” World Champion Cincinnati Reds. Hall of Famer and Manager Sparky Anderson signed his name on the sweet spot, along with Johnny Vander Meer. Other signatures include Hall of Famers Johnny Bench, Joe Moran, Tony Perez and Dave Concepcion, Pete Rose, Pat Darcy, Cesar Geronimo, Fred Norman, Doug Flynn, Don Gullett, Gary Nolan, George Scherger, Larry Shepard, Clay Kirby, Ted Kluszewski and several others. This item comes with a LOA from JSA.
