Jan van Breda Kolff was a small forward who spent the first two years of his career in the ABA with the Denver Nuggets, Virginia Squires and Kentucky Colonels before moving to the NBA when the leagues merged and he joined the New York Nets. van Breda Kolff wore this home white New York/New Jersey Nets jersey during the 1976 through 1980 seasons. This size 44 jersey was manufactured by Rawlings and features “NETS” and van Breda Kolff’s number “20” sewn on in red tackle twill on the front. The back of the jersey has “VAN-BREDA-KOLFF” and “20” sewn on in red tackle twill. The left side of the jersey has thick red and blue stripes with three white stars sewn on in white tackle twill on the middle blue stripe. The striping overlaps the front and back with the “VAN” lettering partially attached to the red stripe. The shoulders have a thin strap and the Rawlings tag is sewn on the bottom front left tail. Jersey expert Dave Miedema notes that “apparent name and number change was not unusual for the Nets in the 1970’s and this jersey’s range of years worn was based on time when player wore #20 for the Nets. He switched to #22 in 1980-81”. This jersey displays light to moderate use and the jersey displays toning, giving it a cream-colored look. This comes with LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
