After a phenomenal rookie season in 1975 in which he played both the outfield and caught, Carter transitioned to the Montreal Expos’ full time backstop in 1976. Unfortunately a busted finger limited him to just 91 games, making any 1976-attributed Carter bat, such as this one, rather scarce.
This offered Hillerich & Bradsby K55 model bat shows moderate use with a restored handle crack. The barrel carries the special Bi-centennial stamping used only on bats manufactured during 1976. This one-year-only marking, along with the flame burned finish, makes this a very attractive Carter gamer. The bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12649) for the game use.
