In 1976 the New York Mets celebrated America’s bicentennial by donning a special, one-season pillbox cap. Offered here is one of these rare caps, worn during the 1976 season by ace pitcher Jerry Koosman. Koosman has signed the brim of this size “7 ¼” cap in silver marker. His number “36” is written in black marker on the underside of the brim. Koosman won 21 games and finished second in the National League Cy Young race in 1976. This hat shows light wear, and comes with both a COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication and a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
