Offered is a vintage 1970s New York Mets home pinstripe jersey that was most likely used by pitcher Randy Tate. Tate pitched for the Mets in 1975 and wore number 48, but was sent to the minors for the entire 1976 season. This size 42 Rawlings jersey has team tag sewn on the inside back collar indicates this jersey was produced for the 1976 season as they read “42 76 48” which indicated size, year and player number. Tate was issued this jersey for spring training in 1977 before being assigned to the minor leagues again. All of the letters and numbers have been sewn on in blue and orange tackle twill and the Mets logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve. The jersey shows some evidence of use and wear given the age of this item. This jersey comes with a full LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
