Hall of Famer Eddie Murray spent his first season in Majors by hitting .283 and 27 home runs, earning him the American League Rookie of the Year Award. Throughout his entire career in Baltimore, Steady Eddie averaged 28 homers every year and helped lead the team to a World Series appearance in 1979. The Hillerich & Bradsby W248 model bat shows excellent use with a secured handle crack. The barrel shows several ball marks with stitch impressions on the back, right and left sides and the impression of cleat marks can be seen along with blue bat rack paint streaks. A light coat of pine tar is on the upper handle and the Orioles star has signed the barrel in silver marker adding, “77 R.O.Y. 504 HRs.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16669) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a COA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
