Philadelphia Flyers right winger Paul Holmgren wore this jersey during the 1977-78 NHL season. Holmgren, who joined the Flyers in ‘75-‘76, played in 62 games during the ’77-’78 campaign. The burly St. Paul, Minnesota, native scored 16 goals and tallied 18 assists as the Flyers finished second in the Patrick Division. They advanced all the way to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals before losing in a five game series to the Boston Bruins. Holmgren chipped in a goal and four assists during the Flyers abbreviated playoff run.
This heavy mesh jersey is orange, with a Flyers logo sewn on the chest. “HOLMGREN” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill over an orange nameplate. Holmgren’s number “17” is sewn on the back in white and black tackle twill, and on the shoulders in orange and black tackle twill. There is a "4" patch on the left shoulder honoring the passing of Barry Ashbee. The sleeves are primarily white and black. This jersey shows good evidence of use with the right sleeve exhibiting black marks and the left sleeve having black marks and a material snag. The front and back of the jersey has re paint transfers and black marks, while the interior of the jersey exhibits light piling. This item comes with a full LOA from MeiGray (153806) for the game use.
