The Hall of Fame center Moses Malone was presented with this commemorative award by the NBA after leading the league in rebounding during the 1978-79 season. The Houston Rockets star pulled in a career-high 17.6 rebounds per game, including 7.2 offensive rebounds per contest, as the Rockets made the playoffs with a 47-35 record. Malone added 24.8 points per game as he was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for the first of three times in his career. Malone retired after the 1994-95 NBA season with career averages of 20.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game, and he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2001.

This offered award is a quartz clock affixed to an 18 x 12-inch wooden plaque. The clock, which measures 8.5 x 8.5 inches, does not have hands and has several scratches on the surface. A placard affixed to this plaque reads “Moses Malone / Houston Rockets / NBA Rebounding Champion / 1978-79”. A circular NBA logo is placed on the upper corner of the plaque. A gold statuette of a basketball player is affixed to the plaque. This award is a fantastic collector’s item from Moses Malone’s first MVP season! It is accompanied by a LOA signed by Michael Malone.
