The towering Dutch center Swen Nater wore this blue San Diego Clippers warm up jacket and pants during the 1978-82 era, when San Diego first moved to the west coast after leaving Buffalo. Nater averaged a solid 10.7 points and 8.9 rebounds for the Clippers, and would win his second rebounding title the following season with a stellar average of 15.0 boards per contest. Nater retired from the NBA after the 1983-84 season with career averages of 12.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game.

The warm up jacket offered in this lot is a sky-blue zip-up jacket, with “San Diego Clippers” sewn on the chest. “San Diego” is sewn in white tackle twill, while Clippers is sewn on the jacket in white and red tackle twill. Nater’s number “31” is sewn on the left shoulder in white and red tackle twill, while “Nater” is sewn across the back shoulders in white tackle twill. A Rawlings size “44” tag with a “4 Inch Extra Length” flag attached is sewn on the front left tail. The pants in this lot are white, with a Spanjian size “34” tag sewn on the back inside waistband. A red and blue stripe runs down each leg. Nater’s number “31” is handwritten on the Spanjian tag in blue marker. The jacket and pants show heavy use and come with a LOA from MEARS (317927).
